Foster Talks About Special Connection to Monyane
Lyle Foster, a striker for Burnley and Bafana Bafana, has called his friendship with Thabiso Monyane and the fact that they both made it to the national team level super special.
While Foster made his debut in 2018, Monyane, 23, made his Bafana debut in the scoreless draw with Namibia.
Having known one another since they were young, both players joined the Orlando Pirates minor ranks after passing through the Augusto Palacios Academy.
Foster and Monyane reconnected after Broos selected Monyane for the national senior team roster, and the Burnley striker revealed more about their special bond.
He told reporters, Monyane, he is super-special.
We have likely played together since we were 12 years old. He is extremely quick; in our age group, he was one of South Africa's top sprinters, but Palacious brought him to play football.
He actually spent a year residing at my home. We attended the same school and shared a bed. So for the two of us, the opportunity to represent the nation together is quite special.
