Serero was unquestionably a fan favourite throughout his four seasons with Al Jazira and was also a stand-out performer in the league.

But he departed the team in June, and ever since, he has been looking for a new team.

After leaving Ajax Cape Town for its affiliate club, where he played six seasons and won four league titles, the 33-year-old midfielder has spent the previous 13 seasons abroad.

After two seasons with Eredivisie team Vitesse, he then made the lucrative transfer to the Gulf, where he has spent the last four seasons as a star.

Most players these days seem to be going to the UAE, because of the money the clubs offer that side.
