Mashamaite has provided an explanation for the success of his formidable alliance with "Tower" at the club.

Under Stuart Baxter's guidance, the defensive pairing wasremier Soccer League championship, and both players were instrumental in Amakhosi's PSL championship victories in 2012–13 and 2014–15.

Mashamaite believes that because their relationship was built on respect, outstanding communication, and mutual understanding, he believed his work with Mathoho at Chiefs was bound for success.

Between 2012 and 2015, the center-back duo of Mashamaite and Mathoho rose to the top of the SA premier division.

The former defender for Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United continued by saying that their collaboration was successful because they didn't compete with one another, rather than working to make it the best possible to increase their playing time.

Mashamaite further emphasized that despite their alliance having been in place for seven years, people were still talking about it.

You know, communication and comprehension are key to successful partnerships. Mashamaite told FAR Post, I think that's one quality that made us strong and so formidable.

Even after that collaboration had been in existence for seven to eight years, people were still discussing it.

I believe that mutual respect and understanding had a key role. I wish for the squad to advance and succeed as well.

The 38-year-old continued by saying that they were aware of what they had to do as soon as they stepped onto the field.

"We knew that we had to deliver and take care of our department [centre-back] just like goalkeepers, central midfielders, and strikers that were the spine of the team," the player continued.

Mashamaite played 120 games for the Chiefs in total, contributing five assists and 11 goals.

While playing for the Soweto giants, Mathoho appeared in 259 games and scored 26 goals while also providing one assist.
