Themba Zwane again thrown under the bus on missing Bafana game

Hugo Broos, the head coach of Bafana Bafana, claimed that his team needed a player like Themba Zwane in the game following their scoreless draw with Namibia.

Despite controlling the game, Bafana was unable to score against the Brave Warriors, who performed well to prevent the South African opportunities and earn a goalless draw.

At the press conference following the game, Broos was questioned by iDiski Times about whether he had not been tempted to change his formation given their dominance of possession.

Themba Zwane's customary position on the team was not filled by any player, according to the Belgian coach, who noted this in the first half and had to make adjustments in the second.

At the press conference following the game, Broos responded to iDiski Times, I think that was a little bit of a problem in the first half.

So, number 18, I believe, was always free for Namibia. Therefore, we lacked a genuine number nine, such as Themba Zwane.

That's the player, that kind of player, that we didn't have today. But okay, Themba wasn't there, so we had to make a decision.

Moreover, the second half was superior. The space for Namibia was not as large as it had been in the first half with specific moments because we were closer to the man and higher as well.

But well, again, it was interesting to watch how we behaved ourselves in the game because we assumed they should play with two in front of the defence and one behind, but they really did the reverse by playing with one in front and two in front of the defence and went a little higher.

But we were unable to adjust. Therefore, we must draw lessons from it because a game may likewise experience that.
