Khenyeza Will Guide Arrows in the coming PSL game
According to the iDiski Times sources, Mabhuti Khenyeza will be in charge of Golden Arrows when they take on Stellenbosch on Saturday at 15:00 at Mpumalanga Stadium.
As Vusi Vilakazi, his co-coach, suddenly quit on September 4 in order to pursue a better offer from the club's administration, sources indicate Khenyeza is now taking over the team.
Vilakazi resigned after leading Arrows and Khenyeza to second place in the DStv Premiership standings with 10 points after five games, including a 3-0 victory against SuperSport United just before the international break. However, they were unwilling to give him that upgraded package.
Vilakazi, who triumphed in two DStv Diski Challenges with Arrows, was later named the head of technical operations for Chippa United.
It would be intriguing to watch Khenyeza speak to the media in the post-match interviews because, since he shared the position with Vilakazi permanently, Kanu, as Vilakazi is known, has always done so.
History of khenyeza as a player
Khenyeza, as a player, does have a bit of a pedigree. After two stints with the team, he held the record for most PSL goals scored by an Arrows player until Knox Mutizwa knocked him off the perch.
He scored seven goals in that season after joining Arrows in the second half of that term after being released by Mpumalanga Black Aces, aiding the team in gaining top-flight promotion in 2014–15 under coach Shaun Bartlett.
In addition, he participated with Kaizer Chiefs, which he joined before the 2007–2008 campaign. He set a record for the quickest Soweto Derby goal, against Orlando Pirates in November 2007 at Kings Park Stadium, clocking in at 19 seconds. This goal will live in my memories forever.
