Interesting: Mosele is Surprised after the reunion at Chippa with Mammila

Image
At Chippa United, Goodman Mosele has said that it was nice to be reunited with Morgan Mammila as a coach. Together, they played for Baroka, who defeated Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout trophy final at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the 2018–19 season. Mosele, who transferred from Baroka to Pirates before the 2021/22 season, was signed by the Chilli Boys on a loan deal through the end of the year. Mammila claimed that when the window opened to sign Mosele, he couldn't help but jump at the chance because he knew what he was going to get after his team's season-opening draw with Kaizer Chiefs. This season, Mosele scored the equalizer as Chippa and Pirates drew a match. He skillfully twisted inside the box and fired the shot.     Seeing Morgan again, well, we know each other. It's great because I know him and he knows me, Mosele told i Diski Times. Mosele was surprised by Mammila's tactical move as the former CEO of Bakgaka while he was Chippa's CEO, with hi...

Khenyeza Will Guide Arrows in the coming PSL game

Image
According to the  iDiski Times   sources, Mabhuti Khenyeza will be in charge of Golden Arrows when they take on Stellenbosch on Saturday at 15:00 at Mpumalanga Stadium. As Vusi Vilakazi, his co-coach, suddenly quit on September 4 in order to pursue a better offer from the club's administration, sources indicate Khenyeza is now taking over the team. Vilakazi resigned after leading Arrows and Khenyeza to second place in the DStv Premiership standings with 10 points after five games, including a 3-0 victory against SuperSport United just before the international break. However, they were unwilling to give him that upgraded package. Vilakazi, who triumphed in two DStv Diski Challenges with Arrows, was later named the head of technical operations for Chippa United. It would be intriguing to watch Khenyeza speak to the media in the post-match interviews because, since he shared the position with Vilakazi permanently, Kanu, as Vilakazi is known, has always done so. Mamelodi Sundowns dream: Nku is a player who has his eyes on the CAFCL

Image
Lesiba Nku, an attacking midfielder for Mamelodi Sundowns, wants to win the CAF Champions League alongside his team. The 27-year-old moved from the demoted Marumo Gallants to Masandawana at the start of the current campaign. With Gallants, where he enjoyed a tremendous season and helped them go to the CAF Confederations Cup semifinal, Nku needs little introduction to the Downs squad. He made it clear that winning the Champions League with Downs would be a wonderful way to introduce himself after barely missing out on the CAF championship with Bahlabane Ba Ntwaa last season. Nku spoke to Sundowns Joining Bafana Ba Style is a significant accomplishment for me and a development in my career. Winning the CAF Champions League would be a fantastic way to mark my debut at the club, and I am thrilled to be here. I am really anticipating the chance to join the squad and introduce my playing style and my confidence to the crowd. We may be able to win some hardware this season if we coopera...

Good News: Kgoloko Thobejane relocates

Image
Six months after leaving Som United, former Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane has found a new position. In February 2023, Thobejane gave up his position as Som's head coach. This occurred after Lebogang Mothibantwa entered the club. At the time, Mothibantwa was going to be named the assistant coach.  Postmasburg FC of the Northern Cape ABC Motsepe League has since named Thobejane as their head coach. With players capable of competing for promotion to South African football's second flight, Postmasburg are a very ambitious team.  After only four months on the job, Thobejane left Som, which finished second in Stream A, the previous season.  Given that he had won seven of the team's first nine league contests, the former Baggaga coach was clearly having a great time at Som. Having said that, Thobejane will be expected to continue what he was doing at Som before quitting. In an interview with  FARPost  in May 2023, Thobejane made a come get me plea to neighbo...

Image
Farouk Khan, Patrick Maswanganyi's former coach, has explained why he thinks the brilliant striker is succeeding at Orlando Pirates. At Stars of Africa Academy, while Maswanganyi was a teenager, the two collaborated on projects. Since switching from SuperSport United to the Soweto giants, Maswanganyi has gotten right to work. He gave some indications that he might perform well for his new team by scoring three goals while on the Bucs' pre-season trip to Spain. The 25-year-old has been a vital player for the Sea Robbers since the start of the 2023–24 PSL season. The talented attacker has established himself as a fixture in the starting 11. Breaking: Latest update on Royal AM goalkeeper Hugo Nyame

Hugo Nyame, the shot-stopper for Royal AM, has been sidelined for a while due to an injury he suffered in the previous campaign. It's no secret that Thwihli Thwahla has had trouble keeping goals in his absence. The technical staff of Royal AM has also had trouble deciding between Xolani Ngcobo and Mondli Mpoto for their starting goalkeeper. While Ngcobo has made five appearances in all competitions this season, the former SuperSport United shot-stopper has only played twice. Why Chiefs First Team Trio Was Included In The DDC Soweto Derby

Image
Vela Khumalo, the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Diski Challenge, has given an explanation for why three members of the first squad were used in the team's 1-1 draw with Orlando Pirates. Some fans had concerns when Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba, and Aden McCarthy were assigned to the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium starting line-up. All three of them were given promotions last year, and Shabalala has consistently been included in match-day teams. We wanted to give Mduduzi, Duba, and Aden game time, Khumalo said to Super Sport . The first-team side has been quite busy. The first team doesn't receive that much playing time, and we want results from them. They are still young and capable, thus they belong here. It has been a while since they participated in a competitive game, so I am pleased with how they played. Shabalala has made a total of 26 first-team appearances for the group, compared to Wandile Duba's six and McCarthy's unofficial debut.

Gunfire: Matches in the HWBSL are cancelled due to gunfire at the stadium

Image
The cancellation this weekend of two games at the King Zwelithini Stadium for safety concerns overshadowed Round 22 of the Hollywood Bets Super League. This comes after disturbances caused by a crowd that entered the match area brandishing weapons. The decision to cancel the doubleheader was made out of concern for everyone's safety following a discussion with the stakeholders, including stadium management, SAFA, and the national broadcaster who planned to stream the matches between Royal AM and City Lads as well as Durban Ladies and TS Galaxy. In due course, SAFA will reveal a new date for these games. In the meantime, the University of Western Cape increased its advantage over First Touch Academy in Polokwane by winning 2-0. With 57 points from 21 games and a seven-point advantage over Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in second place after the win, they remain in first place. The Academy from Limpopo, which has 24 points from 21 games, is in tenth place. Following their successful part...

Kaizer Chiefs: Dove explains his assistance to Castillo and Gonzalez

Image
Edson Castillo and Jason Gonzalez, two new South American additions to Naturena, were assisted in adjusting by Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove. Dove explained that because the new players' difficulty with the English language is not great, he is acting as their interpreter to help them settle in and feel welcome. The two newcomers are both of Spanish descent and come from Colombia and Venezuela, respectively. Dove is from Mozambique and speaks Portuguese, a language related to Spanish. He expressed his enjoyment of being a member of the Chiefs family in any capacity, including through translating, to senior writer Velile Mnyandu of the iDiski Times for the current edition of the publication. Yeah, obviously, as the chairman said it's a family, we should be able to embrace each other, help each other where we can, D ove, whose Mozambique booked their AFCON ticket over the weekend, remarked to iDiski Times. And I consider it an honour if I can lend a hand to team-mates who...

Peter Shalulile under fire: see what the Namibian coach had to say about him missing the game

Image
Collin Benjamin, the head coach of Namibia's national team, has come clean about the shooting specialist Peter Shalulile's absence from the match against Bafana Bafana. Saturday's international friendly between the Brave Warriors and the South African team ended in a scoreless draw.  The striker for Mamelodi Sundowns was a notable missing for his nation since he is still recovering from an injury. On August 15 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Masandawana defeated Golden Arrows 4-0, and he entered the game in the 73rd minute. The 29-year-old's hamstring was hurt.  PETER SHALULILE COULD HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE, NAMIBIA COACH ADMITS  Early in the game, Benjamin's team was frustrated because they were missing too many opportunities that may have significantly impacted how the game turned out. Despite Benjamin's admiration for Namibia's performance against Bafana, he thinks things would have gone differently if Shalulile had been a member of the team on match day.  ...

A former England goalie remembers meeting Madiba 20 years ago

David James, a former goalkeeper for England, recalls meeting late Mzansi leader Nelson Mandela in 2003 and described him as "a nice guy." During their 2003 tour of Mzansi, the England football team was given the opportunity to participate in the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge at King's Park Stadium in Durban. Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Gareth Southgate, and Danny Mills comprised the starting back-four for the England team that Sven-Goran Eriksen brought to South Africa. Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard formed a double-six in the middle of the field, and David Beckham, the captain, and Trevor Sinclair played as wingers in the 4-4-2 formation. England defeated Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba's team 2-1, with former Liverpool forwards Emile Heskey and Michael Owen directing the attack up front. The visitors scored early after Beckham's ferocious free-kick was blocked by Lucas Radebe, Aaron Mokoena, Mbuleo Mabizela, and Thabang Molefe. Southgate was unmarked at ...

ONE DREAM: Kaizer Chiefs two former center backs Mathoho and Mashamaite tell their story

Image
Few pairings in local football are as well-known as that of Tefu Mashamaite and Erick Mathoho. The two center backs for Kaizer Chiefs were a strong pair that helped the team win multiple trophies, including the Premier Soccer League championship twice. Mashamaite has provided an explanation for the success of his formidable alliance with "Tower" at the club.  Under Stuart Baxter's guidance, the defensive pairing wasremier Soccer League championship, and both players were instrumental in Amakhosi's PSL championship victories in 2012–13 and 2014–15.  Mashamaite believes that because their relationship was built on respect, outstanding communication, and mutual understanding, he believed his work with Mathoho at Chiefs was bound for success.  Between 2012 and 2015, the center-back duo of Mashamaite and Mathoho rose to the top of the SA premier division.  The former defender for Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United continued by saying that their collaboration was su...
